Over the last ten years, birdwatching expert Dot Blakely has had a regular slot on BBC Radio Ulster's popular Your Place and Mine. Together with YPAM host Anne Marie McAleese, she has visited hundreds of locations all over Ulster to see oystercatchers, fulmars, pied wagtails, buzzards, kestrels, whooper swans, the annual return of the Brent Geese and many more. In this warm and personal book, they write about over 50 places they went to and the varieties of bird they found there. This combination of memoir and nature writing that covers the whole of Ulster and is illustrated with more than 100 of Dot's stunning photographs is an uplifting celebration of our landscape and natural world.
